Default Lightest Aftermarket JK Wheels

I'm looking to replace the 18's on my 2008 Sahara. The stock wheel and tire combo is about 67lbs, 25 of which is the stock wheel. I know aftermarket alloys are typically much lighter than steelies, but I'm having a hard time locating a website that actually lists the weights of their wheels. I'm looking for a 16-17 inch wheel......

First, Why do you want a lighter wheel? Let me guess........for racing, or gas mileage?

Just Kidding. Anyway, a Sahara doesn't come with steel wheels, it comes with alloys, only the base X has steel wheels. I'll tell you, you're going to be hard pressed to find anything that weighs much less than that.... 67lbs is light. My 18" beadlocks and 35" Nittos combined weight roughly 125-135lbs per each assembly.

I just bought 5 Hutchinson Rock Monsters with 35" Toyo tires for my 2dr Rubicon and I don't even want to know what the weight is!

Default Tires on wheels

Quick question: Does anyone know if an LT285/70R17 Firestone Destination M/T will fit on the JK Rubicon wheel (which is 17 x 7.5)?

Don't even know if they make wheels that will fit our JK's but I thought I throw it out there that Centerline and Weld make some real light wheels...

No racing for me, guys. I'm just wanting to put a little lift and some different (lighter) wheels on; my idea behind lighter-than-stock wheels is to reduce rotating mass and at least somewhat offset going to a wider tire. I know my gas mileage is still going to take a hit, at least with a lighter wheel it won't be quite as bad. Am I reaching too much here?

I went with procomp 8179's - 26 lbs each. Pretty close to stock. 16x8's are 22 lbs.

I also went with xtreme mt's - 68 lbs. The tire weighs more than the stock wheel tire combo.

I know my tire/wheel combo weighs about 27 lbs more than stock, But, they don't look like they "take it in the butt", like the stock wheel/tire combo does.

Just checked out Centerline & Weld......Weld doesn't list any weights, but Centerline lists some 16x8's that are only 18lbs. According to the Quadratec catalog I have, 33x10.50 Thornbirds weigh in at 53lbs. Total would be just over 70lbs, which isn't too much worse than stock. Thanks guys!

EDIT-Forget the Thornbirds; all of the research that I've seen says they are garbage. I love this forum.
