Default Rusty's Off Road lift

Anyone running a Rusty's Off Road 3.25" lift? Looks like a good price for everything it comes with. Cheaper than a 2.5" BB w/shocks + 1" body lift! Anybody have any experience with this? Everyone I know with a Cherokee running a Rusty's lift loves them.

Yup.....I'm in your area and have an Unlimited Rubicon with the Rusty's 3.25. I love it ....good quality and strong springs. I added 1.5" to the front to control my rake since I have AEV front bumper with skid/winch/Hemi which added a little weight. You will love it if you get it.....ride is better than stock IMO.

I have them and love it. Gives the best flex out of the box than any other 3 inch lift. Even with the sway bars disconnected, you don't need bump stops.

I asked him that same question when I got mine. He told me he only employs 6 people where most have many more. He also has but one shop that he operates out of and it is located on his property and his advertising budget is low as he relys mainly on word of mouth to get his products sold. He also fabs allot of his own parts where allot of companies get others to make them.

Now how true all of this is I don't know. But I do know that low overhead does keep pricing down.

And he really is not a whole lot cheaper on everything, for example.

The 2" coil springs that I have are $110 a set and OME are $150 a set...
The big difference in the kits is the shocks, Rusty's are $30 a piece compared to OME's @ $80, thats $200 right there. I do believe that the OME shocks are probably better, people seem to swear by them. I am however very happy with Rusty's.

Hmmm... I figured the shocks were probably the main difference (Then again, I'm sure the $30 cheap-os aren't much different than the stock ones jeep uses...) I wonder how everything holds up long-term though. Maybe some TJers will chime in?

I used Rusty's for several things a few years ago when my son and I were building up his Cherokee and my TJ. Based on my experiance, I would say it is pretty much true. Not a "high-polish" kind of a company, but one with good products at great prices. After doing some homework to be sure people were happy with the performance and fit and finsh of the particular product, I would have no hesitation purchasing from him again.

Rusty's been around for along time, and has been big into XJ's. Got a bunch of his products for my XJ years ago, and was happy with the parts. Met him at the Jeep Show in York Pa years ago. A great guy! In 96 I was putting together a custom 6" lift for the XJ, Back then there was no 6" complete kit out of the box. Used his LCA's. Nice and beefy. There were some problems with the original bushings, that came up on Jeepin.com. Called him and he verified a few people complained. He told me he'd get a new upgraded set out to me, free of charge. They came in about 3 days. His LCA's are still on my XJ today.
