I will use my stock jack with the AEV jack base (available at Northridge 4x4). I will probably also get a high-lift jack when the Shrockworks rear bumper tire carrier is released.

Cool. I've seen those, but didn't realize the purpose. Thanks

I definitely agree. I had one for my TJ and didn't feel comfortable all with the stability. That said it does have certain offroad uses that a normal jack won't help with.

I won't be political about it at all. HiLifts are BAD news as far as changing tires! They aren't made for that. Don't do it!

Okay that being said, I found a Land Rover jack on Ebay. It's a dual stage bottle jack with a "Y" shaped fixture on top. It works great!

Factory scissor jack with AEV base on the trackbar mount. Tire is off the ground within a few turns.

I carry a small floor jack under the rear seat. I can still fold the large seat portion. I like the floor jack because it works with most anything I might encounter on the road--trailers, folks who don't have the jack for their vehicle, etc.

If a HiLift isn't good for changing tires then what is a HiLift good for? Just asking.
