AEV's Aftermarket hood
When aev's hood comes out do you guys think it will be stronger the the flimsy stock hood?
And ive never owned a jeep but is the rubber mounts on each side of the hood the only thing holding the hood down or does it have a lock underneath like a normal car?

I think they claim that it is stronger. I'm considering it too, for that very reason. I think the stock hood is kind of flimsy too. I'm anxious to see a write up when someone installs the hood, so that I can get a better idea if it would be worth the cost.
I like the idea of a stronger hood just because it would dent less easily and hold up better over time. I am careful when I wax my Jeep, because it seems like the hood could actually be dented if you used too much force. I think I read a thread where a guy did dent his hood that way. I also like the air vents in the AEV hood, and I think it would be a nice way to personalize my vehicle and set it apart from all the other JK's that will eventually be on the road.
U got to have some where to place your 62 oz Big Gulp while your opening your doors! I think the hood looks awesome but at that price and the to have it painted to match your looking at $1000, for me there are a lot of other places to put that grand right now.

The hood looks awesome, but doesn't it seem like the airvent on the passenger side is directly in front of the airfilter opening on the stock airbox? I wouldn't want to allow the water to have an easier way to my engine. Maybe the screen keeps water out somehow. I have crossed water many times in my old Rubicon, and even with a lift the water always went higher on my hood when entering the rivers than it did on my doors.
