Default Heated seats in JK with airbags

This is the one thing I have now in my vehicle that I think I will miss the most....having a nice heated bumm in 30-45 seconds in cold winter weather is bliss...and thinking I want to add something in the JK.

Any suggestions on one kit/brand over another? How hard is the install?

i don't have much to offer in considering heated seats, but i'd like to offer another possibility. the heater in the JK is a beast - unlike any other vehicle i've ever owned. i'd say save some money and get a good remote start with your alarm system.; compustar or clifford. if it gets that cold whereever you live, you'd need to warm it up anyway. and the massive amount of heat that this heater kicks out would be more than enough to have -everything- toasty in minutes.

You I'm just kidding,
Superboo is so right on about these JK Heaters, they could roast a Turkey. I go out every morning start it up & go backout in 5 min's and it's pretty good. Actually I'm really thinking about the Remote Start.....
Here Area-51, I found this might help ya...

That's a great idea, I'm getting the 6-speed, so remote start is out. Anyone know how hard it is to take the seat covers off?

Not sure since I don't own a jeep yet but I hope these can be added. Since its a seat cover, I am hoping it can be taken off or just loosened just enough to slip those into place. The first one to do this needs to write it up for everyone to benifit.

Its not hard to do. I have added heated seats to several of the JKs I have built.A good set of heated seat pads with switches will cost around $150.00 a seat and about 2 hours labor a seat. You will need some hog rings and hog ring pliers to put the seat back together. Just make sure you do not turn the ignition on when you have the seats unplugged. If you do you will have to recalibrate the seat airbag sensors. I have no photos of this but I will take some when I do the next JK.

I have heated seats in my volkswagon and I thought that I would want them in the JK. Now that I am driving the JK I can honestly say that the heater in the JK will heat up faster than a pair of heated seats.

After a few minutes of driving you can't put your hands close to the vents it gets that hot!!

To each his own but I think that the Jeep gets warm enough.

I dont have my Jeep yet and I have already ordered and recieved my heatd seat kit. I mainly ordered it because its nice to have on early morning trail rides when the top is not on. The weather here in Nebraska changes every 5 minutes, They are just another creature comfort that makes the trailrides a little nicer!

i don't know how much this helps, but back in january i heard that it might snow. when that day finally came, i intentionally went to the dealership that evening with the intent to test drive a JK. after 10 minutes or so, my accompanying salesman "reminded me" that i could turn the heat off "if i got to hot". of course i was paying attention to a myriad of other things at the time and hadn't noticed that i was sweating. i wiped my forehead, turned the heater off, and after another or minute or two even let the window down a bit - all during a snowstorm. since then i've had no concerns whatsoever with regard to interior temperature comfort. oh, and this was in a soft top.
