Default ok check this out and see what you think! terflex tera low kit for jk?

i went to OK 4WD on saturday for their JK day. i picked up a teraflex parts brochure and threw it in the jeep. on the way home sitting traffic i was looking at it. on the bottom corner on the back was a interesting little thing.

it says JK Wrangler 241OR 2Low Kit
jk 241 or rubicon 2low kit #2266900 $205.99

no picture, no info that is all it said. so i tried calling teraflex but at 1:00 pm in the afternoon they were closed. so i called OK 4WD back and asked them. he said the part number wasn t coming out in the computer, but it sounded like there tera low kit for a TJ but for the jk.

is this the heavenly part all us X owners have been waiting for? or something else? for $205 bucks this would be awesome for a 4.0:1 low range! i am going to call teraflex tomorrow and see what they say, and it is, i will call me guy at the dealer and see what he can get it for, my dealer is a teraflex dealer as well.

i really hope this is what this is! what do you guys think?

Yeah... kinda freaked me out too... Then I saw the part number and thought it might be for a 2WD or something.

Then... I actually READ the post.

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but this is not an upgrade to a 4:1 t-case gearing fpr those without. it does not change the ratio at all.

what this does is allow you to put the jeep in low range at the t-case while STILL in 2 wheel drive. hence 2lo. so for rubicon people, it'd give that 4:1 ratio while staying in 2 wheel drive and for everyone else it would be whatever the ratio is for the x and sahara while still in 2 wheel drive. the only way to get the 4:1 ratio in an X or sahara would be to swap the whole t-case out. which is way more then $200...

It won't change the 4:1 ratio, just gives the options to have a 4:1 ratio 2Lo. TeraFlex has had this same option for the older NP231 for sometime now.

i had this in my yj the teralo was reallly usefull but that was because i had a detroit up front

not sure if its needed with the electric lockers in the rubicons,

but it was reallly usefull if you have a locked rear end and 2 lo that is all you basically need for 90% of trailriding out there
