Default Rear bumper with or without tire carrier

I looking at getting a rear bumper with a tire carrier. I have new 35' on AEV beadlocks and I'm afraid that the added weight will warp my tail gate.

Any suggestions?

Although I haven't added this yet. The local (respectable) shop tells me definitly get the weight off of the tailgate and move it to the frame via a bumper. I also read another thread where someone here warped there tailgate with too heavy a tire.
That being said I have seen a 35" setup on an adapter to the factory holder that had no problems....
So for me.. It will be a rear bumper with tire carrier. Just to be certain!

Congrats on the new rubber! Good luck with your decision!

DAMN! A 35' tire must weigh a couple of tons! I'd be worried too!

Ok, all kidding aside. If the AEV's are as heavy as my PSC beadlocks and then add a 35" tire, I would NOT put it on the tailgate. I think that's way too much weight.

I tried to put my 35" KM2 on AEV 17" Pintler on my tailgate and it wouldn't work. Wasn't even close to being able to close the tailgate. I put a Warrier aaptor that raises and extends the tire a bit and I can now closethe door. But the additional wieght is now even worse since it is further from the tailgate and the lever is longer. After I digest the rocker guard, front bumper and Warn PP i'm going to get a RockHard rear bumper and carrier. I just don't trust the spare on the tailgate if you actually go off road.

Default bumper

I bought a front bestop bumper at a local store, and a the time they also had the back bumper. they made me a good deal if Bought both. the only reason I didn't go for it was that the bestop back bumper doesn't have a tire carrier. it comes with a replacement tire carrier that still ataches to the gate. now I have just installed the mopar bumper and tire carrier. I have to say I'm pretty happy with it. It looks good and it doesn't rattle at all.( installation was very easy)
