I'm getting nuttin' but grief from my jeeeps club (none with JK's) telling me the stocker is going to take a real beating...BUT...but a lot here have said NO, it *might* take a beating but just go slow....

Either way-- we ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL want pics

Pretty good read. I liked this quote: "This Jeep is as Jeeps always have been since 1940: tough, capable, virtually unstoppable — but now chubbier and a bit softer. Show us a 66-year-old that isn't."

You will really need the extra clearance. i mean the stocker is very capable but you will be dragging like crazy its going to be a much more enjoyable experience with a lift. Hell just get a BB if you dont want to spend money you can get a rough country 2.5 for less than 150
Could not agree more...

And a belly skid plate. Rock rails. I would not go with out rock rails. any Damage will not be too bad with a belly plate and rock rails. 32 inch tires are ok, but if you have the $$$ get some 35's. A CB radio.

To prioritize:

1. Rock Rails and belly skid plate.
2. Lift/Shocks
3. Tires

Make the CB non-negotiable. Just get one. Even a hand held is OK.

I am jealous. I have wanted to do the Rubicon since I was a kid living near Sacramento, and now that I have the Jeep that can do it, I don't live there and have a hard time finding time.

Have a great time!
