I just wanna know what size tires... I understand all the other problems

Yeah, I'd have to say 39-40. Why, are you planning something that I don't know about

LOL!! You know, I had actually been thinking about this more and depending on what the actual lift ends up being, a 5.5" lift may only clear 37's. I have seen the TeraFlex 6" lift sitting on 39's but it definitely looked like it would rub at a full flex. And, I have seen Full Tractions 4" prototype Ultimate lift on 37's and while it does work, it does rub a bit too.

The sawzall would be my first choice btw. I know that the RE 4" rubs huge with flex and 37" tires. But I guess it would also come down to the trails (if any) you intend to do. A mall crawler could probably fit some bigassed tires as you would be static most of the time and all your flex would be curb hopping.
MichealW, you said that the RE kit rubs big with 37's. Is your statement based on the pics you took at that off-road show, have you wheeled that setup, or do you know someone who has? My kit should be here by lunch, and that's the set-up I'm running, so I'm obviously interested!

If you are swapping out the bumpers you could probably get by with 37's on the RE lift but, I personally would clip off any other area where rubbing could happen. I have been told by people who have driven the RE said it rubbed a lot on trail and turning tight. It drove ok on the highway though. Again with offsets, wheel spacers you can get the wheels off of the important stuff then work on the fenders and bumpers.

Sorry for the hijack.
thanks, i will check & advise.

Well first off has RE even released this kit yet or have they started building as a prototype? All I've seen and heard is a 4.5" Long Arm kit. According to them there 4.5" kit will allow for 37" tires. There lifts tend to be a tad higher than they state so I would be willing to be that if they do come out with a 5.5" kit that you could easily run 39" Krawlers with no problems.

If your concerned about a little tire rubbing maybe you shouldn't be taking your rig off road cuz that's the least of our worries while were out there
