70 Degrees and Topless!!
It hit 70 today so I had to take the doors off and the top down. So I went out to the Peninsula this afternoon to get some photos, and here they are.

And only in Erie, PA can you have 70+ degree weather and the bay still frozen over.

scrambler - first, the pic is great! Curious - how long did it really take you to get the doors off? And was it the kind of thing you did but felt it was a pain? I keep thinking one of those throw covers would be nice in the summer so if you took the doors off you could just throw one of those covers on so you don't have to put the doors back on each day.
I thought it was super easy. The T55 Torx nuts came off easy. And yes they are nuts, not bolts since they thread onto the hinge pin on the door. And taking the doors off of the hinges proved to be very easy too, just had to lift with pretty even pressure and off they came. I too would like something to put on so I don't have to put them back on all the time, but since they are really easy to take off an put on, I don't mind the "hassle"
Scambler, great pictures & very nice JK stripped to the bone,....only one thing wrong wtih these pictures, how come your not out on the lake ICE fishing for those monster "WALLEYE & SMALLMOUTH BASS" we usally catch up there > & "Salmon". Pound for Pound "Erie" is best lake to fish. (Elk & Walniut Creek)......
I was looking at the "trail covers"...seems like it might be a decent option...

But maybe there isn't much difference in just getting a whole cover - unless the trail covers are faster to put on and hold better...never used one..

...yeah... but eating anything out of it is highly questionable.
Clipped from the NYS DEC link to the NYS Health Advisory site:
"Advisories for Lake Erie - Due to PCBs, women of childbearing age, infants and children under 15 are advised to eat no more than one meal per week of chinook salmon less than 19 inches, burbot, freshwater drum, lake whitefish, rock bass and yellow perch and to EAT NO MORE THAN ONE MEAL PER MONTH of all other fish from Lake Erie. Other people should eat no more than one meal per week of any Lake Erie fish species."
There is also a large concern about "Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia" or VHS (not the tapes) (this is like E-Boli for fish from what i understand, and btw, this is apparently a fish desease and not a danger to humans) and the DEC has posted alot of new warnings/regulations about it very very recently (these are NOT in the 2006-2008 fishing regs book you get with the license, they occured after that was printed.) see some here about baitfish collection:http://www.dec.state.ny.us/website/d...ersclosed.html
I love to fish, & do so in Erie several times each year, but i rarely keep anything out of it. Too many younger kids in the house, just not worth the chance to me. *shrugs* just my 2c.

lol @ that!
...wasnt trying to scare anyone or go all Bio-terrorist on anyone, to each there own, but i think you should be aware of the potential problems.
Bambi-Jerky anyone?
...Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the range...
"Bamni-Jerky? I, think road kill is better. That way, you don't have to waste ammo, or spend money on a tags.
....and if its been sitting on the side of the road for a while, the Bambi is already jerky, free of charge.
