Default Installed CROWN Brake Lines Do They Look OK

Just replaced factory Brake Lines with Crown brake lines. They are supposed to fit between 3" to 4" Lift. I am just a bit nervous. They look too long to me, Can some please advise if they are OK.

Looks fine. I have had mine on for a while and have been wheeling twice and no problems. I also re-ran the rear ABS lines to get more slack.

Has anyone thought of making there own brake lines. I have access to a limited supply of Parker Hydraulic hose that has a burst rating of 6000psi. and was wondering that if I can make my brake lines that exceed DOT ratings would it still be legal to run on the roads?

As for the lines they would need to be long to aloow for the articulation of the axle from full stretch to compression.

Yes I have made my own brake lines before, but no they are/were not DOT legal. In order to comply with DOT standards the brake line has to has some anti-whip built into it. All that means is the line wont bend so severe that it stops fluid flow.

As far as the hyd. hose, as long as it is rated to brake fluid and has at least a constant perssure rating od 2500psi, it should be okay. Personally I wouldnt use anything other than teflon lined steel braided "brake hose", its just not worth the risk if something goes wrong.

The Parker Hyd. Hose exceeds DOT standards and has a +3000psi continuos pressure rating with a burst rate of +6000psi. can withstand dot3,4and5 fluids in them and multiple other fluids.

Based on the fact that the post comes from Australia, it is probably a right-hand drive JK.
