Default PowerPlant on LoD bumper install

About all I can say at this point is, the install was interesting to say the least.
These are pic's taken right after I was finished for the night. All thats left to do is wind on the amsteel blue winch line and install the 2" Rustys lift. The front sagged down about 1" with the bumper and winch in place. One nice thing is I sure dont need to worry about someone walking off with my winch. They would have to take the whole jeep with it. There is no easy access to the mounting bolts.

Great job, cool pictures. I just ordered the rear bumper with tire carrier from them and I held up on the front one because of the not yet existing brush guard. I will wait 'till I have the back one installed.

Just one question, I know I can look it up, is there a remote with the winch?

The control cable plugs into the winch up front.. its long enough to reach the drivers seat.

Look's great. How long did it take you to install. I put the Lod front bumper (no winch w/fog's) on two week's ago and it took about 2.5 hours.

With all the messing around that it took, I put about 6 hrs into it. There was alot of head scratching to deal with issues that came to light durring the install. No major problems, but it was not exactly a straight forward install.

what was the major problem to install that bumper. That is the exact system that I want on front of mine. Just deciding if I want that bumper or another. Did you have to shim it to fit, if so how much?

Really no problems, just work arounds. Yes I shimmed out between the bumper and the mounts to push the whole works forward a little. I did not like how close the back of the winch came to the grill. It made it so you could not remove the grill with out removing the winch. I did not consider that an option because I did not want to have to remove the winch to change a bulb or replace a headlamp or clean junk out of the radiator. Even after moving the bumper forward I still had to cut the tabs back some along the bottom of the grill. The push in tabs are still intact by the parking lights and those seem to hold the grill in fine by themselves. Now I can pull the grill with no muss no fuss. Also one of the plates (passenger side) that are on the front of the frame rails that the studs from the bumper attach to needed to be trimmed back a little at the very top to allow the powerplant to sit centered on the front.
I used a angle grinder with a metal disk to cut it back. One more thing is that I needed to mount the bumper first then mount the winch because access to the two inside frame rail bolts, again the pass side is very limited. To be able to get to the winch mounting bolts under the winch plate I removed the front sway bar and disc motor to get better hand position to start the bolts.
Over all I'm very happy with the set up and would recommend it to anyone. It took a little effort to do it, but if it didn't it would not be 1/2 as much fun
