Default popping sound after track bar installation???

Ok Well day before yesterday I installed the teraflex 2.5" lift with FT shocks and drove home that night with no noises. The next morning I installed the FT front track bar and then drove it home that night with no noises. Today when driving back to work I noticed a popping sound coming from the front. I thought maybe something was lose so I went underneath the jeep and checked everything I had taken loose to install the suspension, everything was still good and tight, I even put some marvel mystery oil on the ball joint thats on the track bar. Noise is still there.

As far as when the noise happens it seems to happen when I go over small bumps or when making a tight turn. It seems to be random tho and won't be there all the time. Its just like a sudden pop, its not continuous.

I posted here cause it seems to have something to do with the lift or track bar.

Any ideas what it could be? Maybe I over tightened the track bar?

Tighten your track bar.

If that doesn't do it then get under the jerrp and have someone turn the wheel ack and forth. You should be able to find the problem that way.

Still my guess is track bar is loose.

I agree. Did you make sure to tighten your track bar bolts to 125 ft. lbs. of torque with the weight of your Jeep on the ground?

they are very tight, I used an impact on the lower part and on the upper part 2 wrenches and it is as tight as I can get it. If anything I may have over tightened. I did have someone turn the wheels back and forth while I was under it and it did not make the sound. Its not every time I turn or hit a bump but maybe 10% of the time. Its always while moving, I havn't been able to reproduce the sound while im under the jeep. I did take the sway bar loose when installing the suspension. That was my second thought but all those bolts were tight as well. Im stumped.

well we figured out the cound is coming from the front left side in front of the axle. It kinda sounds like its coming from the sway bar. It makes the noise when you bounce the front up and down (takes 2 people). Seems like any time pressure is put on the front from hitting a bump, or slowing down. I just put my winch/front bumper on and it seems like its gotten worse... maybe from the extra wieght. I did make sure the track bar bolts were at 125 lbs. I can't figure out what it is. I guess ill take it to the dealer on monday... I know they're going to say its from the modifications tho.

Sometimes after a spacer lift is installed, it takes a bit for the springs to 're-seat' and you hear popping. Usually that only takes a few bumps, however. You may want to check the spacer and make sure it is seated correctly.
Just my 2¢.

Have you double checked to see if the sway bar link is on tight enough or that the ball joint isn't broken (as improbable as it may seem)? What you are describing is very common on TJ's lift or no lift.

Iv checked the springs and they are seated correctly, this is something different tho. It sound more like a metal to metal pop, I can hit a bump and it will go pop, pop, pop at about the same speed as you read it. sometimes it just pops once, sometimes 3-4 times. Its wierd that it started after the track bar installation tho. Now that I think of it when we were installing the track bar and my friend turned the steering wheel to line it up so I could slide the lower bolt in is when it first popped. Dunno if that helps.
