Default 15" wheels....yet again

I want to pull the trigger on some wheels and tires, due to cost I'd like to go with 15" wheels. Can we get a thread that says which ones will and wont clear the calipers? There seems to be a lot of conflicting reports. I know that the Back Spacing is key, but would like to know for certain before I order.

Post up if you can say for certain what will or wont work!

Thanks!

I know theres a few guys running Cragar Soft 8's in a 15x8 without any clearance issues. They're running 4in. of backspacing.

I think a majority of the steel wheels, your fine with 4in. of backspacing or more. If you go aluminum, your gonna need atleast 3.75in., sometimes 3.5.

i have 15" cragar soft 8's with 4"BS and they DID NOT clear. others on here have not had any issues though. theres a lot of threads going around on this, search it and you will find thats some say yes some say no. its also been suggested that it may have something to do with the build date of your jeep. not sure where that idea came from or went, but its a thought. mine is an '07 2 door and they rubbed in the front but not the rear.

It's almost like what fits on one jeep won't fit on another. I bought some 16" Mickey Thompson Classic IIs and they didn't fit. Clearing the outside of the caliper was fine, they hit the piece of metal from the caliper that ran along the edge of the hub.

I have some wheels made by Pacer that are 15x8 with just under 4 inches of BS.

But I will tell you that the calipers are really really really damn close to the wheels. There is absolutely no extra space in there.
