Anyone Running 2" Lift With Stock Tires?
Am I the only one that doesn't like the jacked up rear end look on the stock 4 door??? So what I'm thinking is lifting it not much...either 1 3/4 or 2 inches but I'd like to keep the stock rims and tires. But, are the tires going to look too small? Anyone got pics of this setup? I'd really like to know how it might look.
The other option is can I can go with 33's (but I'd have to re-use the stock rims)? ....if so, what size tire would you all recommend? I have the 255/75-17's now.
Either way, I'd have to do one or the other at a time. Should I get the larger tires first and risk rubbing or get the lift first and risk looking silly??? Hmmm, tough choice.
Questions questions I know, but thats what you guys are great at!!!

there are tons of threads and pictures of what you're asking IMO 1 to 2 inches wont make your jeep look silly at all. 33s wont rub unless you actually wheel hard, also you are not talking about a 33x12.5 tire, if thats the case then its a different story. look at the huge space you have in your fenders, is not that hard to figure that out. good luck

ur stock rims / rubber might look small w/a 2-2.5" lift. rubi's and sahara's come w/32's. ur tires are not. i've seen lots of rigs w/2-2.5" lifts running 32's and they look fine. i would suggest if u can't do it all at once, wait until u can. if u lift w/ur stockers u might not like the result (rollerskate) and will either take off the lift or just run ur rig unhappy. if u put on larger tires (no larger than 33's )first i don't think u will have any issues on a stock suspension unless u wheel hard. a 16" rim gives u a larger variety of tires to choose from and the total cost my be cheaper than just a set of tires for the 17"rims. shop around and build what u like. good luck on whatever u choose.
Thanks for the replies. I dont think it looks bad at all. It even seems to get rid of that rake (I hate that rake!). I just came back from my local 4x4 shop and I think I'm going to go with the Skyjacker "leveling kit". Apparently it works better than the Daystar one in actually levelling the truck. I do have the optional 32" tires on the X so I think I'll be good to go!

I love my BDS 2" lift, well the look anyways. The BDS hydro shocks are nothing special. The tires look fine stuffed in there. Those 2 extra inches of ground clearance make a big difference. I would not worry to much about the rake, it might make your hood flex at higher speeds.
Alright, 1st of all, you guys are killing me.
When you get to the end of the text box (while typing your post)

IMHO, I like the the look of a 2" lift w/ 33's (285/70r17 or 305/65r17). It will have plenty of room to flex, but you
will need wheel spacers if you want to keep your stock wheels or you will have rubbing issues at full lock,
( turning side to side ) like if your flexin' over an obstacle and have to have the wheels cut hard one way or another.
A 2" lift will look fine 'till you need new tires.
Anyway a 1.25" or 1.5" wheel spacer will work fine. check out one of my fav's.
