Default 40" tires and bead locks...ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I am now in the shopping process for 40" tires and bead locks......I know that many on here (like me) have that long list of things they'd "like to do" to their JK...if 40" tires were included in that list please share your thoughts!

In your opinions what is the "ideal" rim size that allows for the most options for tires?

I am considering the PSC or Trailready brand of rims....these as you know are very pricey rims...AND i will not be going any bigger than 40" to 42" tires....so I would like a rim size that would allow for IROKS, TSL's, KM2's, Toyo's or whatever......so that I have options when buying tires through the life of the JK without shelling out for rims too.

All input is welcome thanx

With a 20" rim I have the options I want.....just didn't want to go that big on the rim....might have too though....

Options in 40" or 42" with a 20" rim:

40" Toyo Open Country Mud Terrain $631.99

42" BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 $652.49

39.5" Super Swamper Bias IROK $278.09

39.5" Super Swamper Radial IROK $354.59

....the search goes on...

Check out stazworks if you dont care about DOT approved wheels. I was looking into a 20" by 12 inch for a set of 42"s. If you need beadlocks for a DD then I would suggest walker evans.

I went with the TR in 17", and 40" Nittos. I'm going to get a set of 20" also for later plans down the road. I should have them on this weekend, I post up some photos.

The price of 37"+ tires for a 20" rim is really $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Good for you if you can afford it. Looks bad a$$

I got 18" spyderlocks and that will be fine for me on 37s

Construction of the buggy starts in October, right now we're ordering parts......I lost my leg in a motorcycle accident a year ago and just got my settlement....doesn't replace my leg but it sure lets me have fun!....I'll be starting a thread in October for the build....

...as for the cage on the driver side the tube will run through the dash down to the frame....manly for the ease of me getting in and out with a prosthetic....On the passenger side it will be bent to form around the dash because of the blower motor under the dash.

...so far we've ordered the 16 inch FOX coil-overs and next week I'm ordering the 20" Spyder locks (which I've decided on) mainly because PSC has a sale right now on those rims $100 off. Check out my profile, it has all the plans listed....I'll probably even start the thread with pictures when parts start coming in, cause I'm so DAMN EXCITED!

...here is a picture of the exact wheel and tire combo I'll run...only powder coated black

42" x 14.50" R 20" on 20" x 10 PSC Spyderlocks

Did you make a decision on the wheel/tire combo? If so, what did you go with?
