Default Aftermarket wheel question?

I have already decided on BFG MT 285/70-17 tires, but which wheel will be better on the Rubicon with a 2.5" Teraflex lift.
Pro Comp 1089 17X8 (p/n 10897873) or Pro Comp 1089 17x9 (p/n 10897983)?

I am new to the Jeep world mostly had sporty cars (i.e. WRX) in the past. I will be offroading in Moab at least 4 times a year but most of the time my wife will be driving the Rubi. Is the 17X9 to wide for offroading?

The 8" wide would be ideal, IMO, and will probably be a few bucks cheaper as icing on the cake.

I ordered the 17X8 yesterday but then I saw the 17X9, so I started questioning myself. Thanks for the reply.

If you go with the 8" wide wheel vs the 9", you'll have less of a chance of damaging the wheel when off-roading too.
