Default Stock Rubi tires with 2.5" lift

I'd tried to find this specific answer on here before posting but didn't see it. If anyone can answer this please let me know.

The question:
I'm getting ready to buy the TeraFlex 2.5" lift with shock adapters and springs (~$400) and see that 4.5" backspacing or wheel spacers are needed. Is this only if I'm going to run a 35" tire? If I keep my stock 32" Rubi tires am I good to go?

Answer is appreciated!

You dont say what wheels you are running. The stock Rubicon wheels and tires are on mine with a Rough Country 2.5 lift with shocks ($285 BTW) and I am good to go without spacers or even brake line extenders.

Pretty sure for the TF 2.5 you wont need spacers either. I think it says "recommended" not required, it is more a a CYA statement I think.

If you get the Terra Flex 2.5" BB it comes with longer rear sway bar links which will rub the tires on stock rims if you bolt them on the same as the factory ones (they can be bolted on towards the inside). I believe they suggest the wider stance of spacers for better stability to compensate for the height.

I have the TF 2.5 coil lift w/ extensions, running stock rubi rims/tires. Unless your mall crawling, you will need spacers off road, i'm running the spydertrax 1.5". The swaybar link bolts will get dangerously close to your tire if you do not, and by dangerously close- i mean poke holes in. There are some threads on this, might want to check them out, there are pics~

Thanks for the help...I should have mentioned it but yes, I'm running stock wheels and tires for my '08 Rubi Unlimited. Sounds like for any real flexing having a 1.5" spacer is a good idea but for out and about I should be fine. Let me hear from anyone else out with this lift!! Much appreciated.

Tatonka456 - the TeraFlex 2.5” kit comes with new (longer) rear sway bar links. The new links allow your suspension to flex more/better. The top of the new links line up with the inside edge of a stock Rubicon rim, and therefore you can/will (I did) have clearance issues (I had to install my links on the stock position - outside - and only had 3/8” clearance). Some kits don’t come with new rear sway bar links, and with those you won’t have rubbing issues - or the same flex.

Thanks folks, sounds like this will be the lift I'm looking for. I plan on upgrading to the JKS front adjustable track bar in short order, but wanted to get some feedback on the wheel spacers first. Question answered!
