Height after tires/lift
Looking for some anectdotal information here... I have an underground parking spot at work... downtown parking in Calgary is ridiculously expensive and very hard come-by; I'm not prepared to give up my grandfathered warm, dry, secure, CHEAP spot. So, before I make a decision on tires/lift combination for my 4dr Sahara (build date is today!!!), I need some advice.
The three tallest vehicles I have seen in the underground parkade at my office are a Dodge Ram 1500 with Hemi, a Ford Expedition and a GM Yukon/Denali. None of them park next to each other so I'm eye-balling roof height (with rack on the Expedition and Denali) as compared to the amount of ceiling clearance... they all seem to have a couple of inches more-less below the pipes suspended from the ceiling. None of them appear lifted and all appear to have stock tires.
I'm considering either a leveling kit/front end spacers only to clear 285/65 18s, or possibly 305/65 18s and a 2" lift (I'm going with BFG All Terrain T/A KOs).
Can anyone give me an eyeball estimation as to whether either of those two tire/lift combinations I've described would make a 4dr Sahara taller than the Dodge, Ford or GM I've described above?
Thx.

Dodge 1500 Hemi - 75"
Ford Expedition - 77"
GMC Yukon Denali - 77"
JK Unlimited on 32s (Stock) - 73"
JK Unlimited on 285/65R18s (Stock) - 73.5"
JK Unlimited on 305/65R18s w/ 2" Lift - 76"
I'd say you're OK with any of those options. Most garages are in the 6'6"-7' range (78"-84"). Also, most every parking structure has the clearance posted at the entrance. Check for it!

Had a friend a few years back that wanted to lift his Chevy pickup, but had the same height restraints as you. Parking garages and such.
Someone told him to calculate how much it would lift it up. The hard part like half the tire diameter minus the stock tire diameter + lift amout etc... Once THAT was all figured out for desired height, zip tie a stick to your aerial that gives you the corresponding height you are looking at.
Then drive it around for awhile to see if it hits anything. That was a smart thing to have him do (i think anyhow) because after just a few days he discovered that it would hit the carport on his Mom's house (which he had to drive through to get to his workshop) He hadent considered that spot.
Just a thought.

Hhhhh, downtown is just not the place for a lifted jeep. They make everything big enough for when it's stock, but then if you lift it.......CRUNCH!!! goes your windshield.
I like the idea of the stick method.

Let me know if you find yourself parked next to one of the vehicles I mentioned... I'm feeling safe in my assumption that you won't be as tall as the Expedition or Yukon... which means I'll fit in the parkade...

....I don't know but give or take it anyway.
