Tire Size Opinions
Hey all...first post on the forum here...just picked up my JK X 2DR last week...black with dual tops and the upgraded rear axle (D44) and upgraded sound system!
Anyways...I bought a 3" full-spring kit and am wondering what size tire would fit/work with the kit....I am leaning towards a 305/70R16 (32.8") but thought it wouldn't be that bigger than the factory 17's....I was also thinking maybe a 315/75R16 (34.6) but thought it would suck gas (more than normal) and suck in gearing....I've got 3.21's....
I'm used to driving my old Jeep...XJ on 4.5" LA and 33's....
Looking for your "expert" opinions on this one....
Thanks guys much appriciated!!!

go with the 305/70R16's...I've got the 3.21's also and 285/75R16's (same height as the 305's) and it's not bad at all but I don't think I stand 35's with these gears.
it wouldn't look bad either, with 3" of lift and 33x12.50's you'll still be able to tell that it's lifted...meaning there will be more space between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender than there would be with 35's.

stock rubi has 32" tires. meaning your jeep stock will clear 32's. a 2 inch body lift will clear 35's. I don't think you'd like the 35's with 3:21 gears though.
Buy the 33's and wheel it. By the time you wear them out you will be ready for 35's and will know that regearing is a must with the stock gearing. You will have a lot of fun with the 33's and it will look great until .... you go wheeling with some friends and some of them have 35's and you see what it looks like. Don't ask why I feel this way. Okay, I admit to my 35 envy.
Running on 33's and ready to wear out these tires for 35's. I have 4.10 gears so it's not a must to regear but with the auto it sure will bring back a little power and keep it from jumping out of overdrive. When I regear I will be putting in 5.13's.
Also you must post a pic of your new Jeep because we all love seeing Jeeps. Welcome again!

I have also been looking at the Trxus MT in 34"......I don't want to waste my time with 33's...my stock tire size is 32.1" tall (255/75R17)....
I'm really on the fence...I will be running a 3" lift...really need your opinions..the more the better. I will try to post some pics of the JK in the next couple of days.
Thanks for the opinions already!!
