Default Finally saved the $$$$

Ok...

So unlike some of you lucky a$$es.... I have to save for this JK piece by piece. I am finally ready to order my lift and have read many many threads on lifts. And let me tell you there is no shortage...

I have decided to go with Teraflex. I don't go offroad a whole lot...but I do some. 80% of my time is spend above 8000 ft in snow and 10% of my time is spent above 10,000 feet and a crap load of snow. I'm don't think I'm too concerned about "flex" but I am concerned about ground clearance. I also park in a parking garage in downtown denver...so overall height is a major concern.

SO... I am looking at a 2.5lift. I am hoping someone can provide some advice on either the BB or the 2.5 full coil lift.

I also want advice on using my Stock tires and 18" Sahara wheels until I have funds for new tires and wheels. Will this look OK for now?

Thanks.

Don't be jealous of others. Half the people on this forum are probably in debt up to their eyeballs.

If you're not concerned about flex I would save some coin and go with the spacer lift. It will add some daylight under your Jeep like you want.

Stock tires and a 2.5" lift will look fine.

OK...but why do you think that? If I am not going to go offroad what reasons would choosing the BB be "ghetto"?

Hey, guess what Tokyo? I think huge rims on a Jeep are ghetto, so you can shove it.

I have seen many of your posts and the majority of them are negative. Do us all a favor and take a chill pill or two. You might try washing those down with some Midol. K thanks.

Please don't take advice from someone who thinks 22" chrome rims look good on a Jeep. I've wheeled all over Moab with nothing but a 2.5" Teraflex BB and stock tires and I've never had a problem.

a few reasons
the higher center of gravity, without compensation of a higher spring rate to counter the roll at the higher COG creates a MORE unsafe environment then is already there. shock with a stiffer high speed dampering and a spring lift with a slightly higher springrate would help to counterac the bodyroll inherant in the stock suspension and create an equal or less rollover risk as in a stock setup.

cliffnotes?
Higher you go, the stiffer it needs to be at "high speed" type dampering...IE Swerving to avoid something.

If I decide to use my stock 18" rims and stock tires with the 2.5" lift (either coil or BB) will I need to get the spacers? Or will the teraflex kit include everything I need.

I have ASE certified friends who are just dying to lift my Jeep with me...but I want to make sure I have them help me do the right thing.

Eventually I will be wanting to go with larger tires and possilby different wheels. Like I said I am doing this piece by piece.

Thanks.

I guess ultimately my question comes down to this.... at northridge there are SIX teraflex 2.5" lift options. Which will be the best for me? and...will I need anything else other than the kit (like spacers) to use my stock tires for now?
