Default Anyone try carpet or fabric lining their freedom panels?

I saw in a thread somewhere in this forum (can't find it again) that a guy had tacked dark grey fabric or carpet to the interior or his freedom panels. Anyone done this? Think it's a good idea? When I saw the pics it was pretty fierce. It looked very nice and I would imagine it would help with the noise and insulation. What do you guys think?

Yes! That's a great idea. I didn't exactly know what "fabric" to get but speakerbox carpet is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

If you want fierce go with a nice 70's era purple shag.

Does it help insulate the top at all? When I park in the sun my top gets hot to the touch on the inside, and would like to find a way to stop this.

Ok, anyone thought of lining the top with Dynamat? Wonder what that would do? I mean that might make a huge difference if you wanted it quieter but then again.... its a Jeep!

I myself have begun putting all my surfing/travel stickers all over my Freedom Top panels. I kinda like it and have gotten nothing but "oh thats awesome!" from people who look up and notice it!

Try googling, someone has insulation for the freedom top. I remember seeing it last winter.

Might have better luck using the word headliner. I've seen at least one company that makes liners for the hardtop, but when I typed in their name, I get a bunch of asterisks in place of their name when I previewed the post. So apparently they did something to get themselves blacklisted.

Yeah, I posted something about that company once....at least I think we're talking about the same one. They used to go by the name ColoradoJeepMan or something like that. Now they go by "offroad heroes" or so it was when I last went to their page. One of the moderators mentioned that the company was less than reputable and many forum users have had bad experiences with them. It would probably be best not to blow 200-300 bucks. Even though their stuff looked pretty sweet. I think they used Thinsulate material.

But the dynamat sounds like a great idea. I think I would bedline the inside just to make it not white anymore. It would look slick in black anyway. But the added insulation would be the next step for me. Thanks for all the input guys!
