Great forum...lots of good info and more. I am a new Jeep owner, well sort of, I owned two cherokkes in the past, both stock, and neither amount to my new JK.

I am ready to lift my JK and am looking at two different lifts. The Rock Krawler 3.5" Mid Arm Flex system and the Zone 4" system. Both kits mostly contain the same parts, except the RK also includes front and rear adjustable control arms and new brake lines. The Zone is far less in cost, about half. RK also recommends front and rear drive shaft conversions, heavy duty tie rod and drag link, another $600-700 plus.

I want to keep my Jeep a daily runner but also want to join friends at the Rubicon, Moab, etc.

I would like to run 35's but might settle with 33's or 34's.

Is there anyone who is willing to lend some recommendations, advice or points about the suspension systems and componets. Is what i would really like to know is what at, a minimum, do I need to upgrade with the above susp3ension system(s).

Your going to need adjustable control arms to set your pinion angle. it most important on the 2 door because of the short rear driveshaft.

You wont need a driveshaft right away, but you will eventually.

If i went with the Zone lift, which does not include these, would it be worth while to buy these seperate or go with a lift that already has them.

 

you'll need them... Price the zone lift, plus arms..

then a lift with arms.

If you want to run 35s, you might look at the Teraflex 2.5 kit. You could add some adjustable track bars and be done. I have found in the past that running the shortest lift needed to fit your desired tire size makes for better handling on SWB Jeeps.

 

good point, height isnt always the best thing
