Hello to the forum with my first question.
Hi fellow JK enthusiasts, just picked up my JK last month and have been loving it. This forum has been a wealth of info. I'm looking into rocker protection and would like thoughts/experience on the KC Hilites rockers. Assuming that they are actually shipping already.... are they stout?

There is another open thread on these and no one has come back with person experience with them yet. I wasthinking of getting them as they bolt into existing holes, however I noticed the tubing size and compared them to my friend's XJ sliders and I don't think I'd trust them to take a big hit. This is what my buddy had to say about them:
They're .120" wall. 1/8" is .125" and my AJs rails are 3/16" which is .188". Ideally you want .188", but if it's mostly cosmetic then those should be ok. However, a bit thin if they're gonna come down on rocks.

The gearing is great actually, I was worried myself in the beginning. I learned my lesson with my TJ, I geared to 4.10 with 33's which was good till I added more lift, winch, rockers, bumpers, cargo rack, camping gear, a family, a dog and an Ozark Mountain lol. You can't always go by what the gear ratio chart says.
I'll post up some rpm's at speed and gps corrected mpg this weekend, gotta let the motor break in first
