1. Did I make the right decision with the full-metal doors? I ordered that for security--the vehicle will spend time at trailheads while I'm backpacking, and while I have almost no worries about leaving a backcountry campsite of expensive, ultralight gear unattended, I worry that someone will come along and mess with the Jeep. But, I noticed that in the color Jeep pamphlet from DCM, every decent image of a JK with the top down has the half-doors. Would I be happy with those full-metal doors? Answer: I remove the front doors every chance I get, anyway, so it's moot.
2. Four and one-half weeks after ordering vehicle someone from dealership calls and says my JK is on a rail car in Kansas. Woo-hoo! Then he says it's a good thing I ordered the soft-top, since the Freedom Tops are unavailable. Back to that security at the trailhead thing--uh-oh. I tell him I ordered the Freedom Top and he pauses a moment, and mutters, "Oh, so you did! Never seen one come through so quickly." What will be at the dealership when I arrive there next week? Turns out it was the Freedom Top.
3. About an hour after that phone call, the local news reports threatening weather--hail and tornadoes moving through state--biggest threat is up north in Kansas. On no, wouldn't that be the pitts: Tornado wipes out trainful of JKs enroute to Oklahoma!
All the above is true, but, truly, don't worry: You're gonna love it!
