Default Which Tereflex lift kit to get?

I am a Jeep newbie..haven't gone off roading yet. I am looking to get a lift kit and had read alot about Tereflex kits. Wondering if it is recommended to get the kit with shocks, just shock adaptors or basic kit?

if you can afford it, i would get the BB with new shocks. if you are on a budget, i would get the one with shock adapters. i would not recommend getting a BB without some way to address your shocks as your stock set will be too short.

I went with a Teraflex 2.5" coil kit with shock extensions. I ran about 2 weekends before I bought new shocks. The TF shocks I got were about 2" longer than the stock+extensions and now I have just that much more down travel. Anything you can do to keep your tires on the ground more, providing more traction, is a huge benefit. However, it also depends on the type of wheeling you plan to do, and of course your budget. Good luck!

If a newbie, quite frankly...I'd get armor first, and a QD,...and learn to wheel.

Then, when I knew what I could, or could not do, that I wished I could, I would THEN make a mod path to get me to where I wanted to be.

If you just do wish book engineering, you do not have a clear path, and end up getting and replacing things.

That wastes mod money and resources.

You can do most trails appropriate for someone learning to wheel with a bone stock jeep....the armor is insurance, so you can play - and still be able to drive to work Monday morning, etc.

Remember, you will NEVER lift high enough so you never hit...so armor, especially sliders, are job one. That way, as you learn/make mistakes, nothing bad happens to the jeep.

You do NOT need a monster jeep to go off road...its better to learn on a more stock rig, and upgrade ONLY after you KNOW what NEEDS to be changed/what works where you wheel.

I've been off roading since the '70's, and the JK is one of 3 vehicles in my driveway...and I've been off roading the JK STOCK. I am off roading it stock, so I can SEE what I want to change before changing things.

Thanks for the advice. I do have sliders on already. What other armour do you think I need?

I would recommend a oil / trans skid and maybe the evap skid or relocation kit from woods depending on your skill level.

"need"? well, you don't really need any of it but of all the things that's left exposed and would end your day in a real hurry, your oil pan is something that i'd protect first. aside from that, i see you don't have a front bumper/winch or a rear bumper tire carrier.

i am running 37" tires right now without any steering stabilizer and can tell you that it isn't necessary and wouldn't be so long as your steering and suspension are dialed in correctly. steering stabilizer are designed to help dampen bumpsteer and they are not needed just because you are running bigger tires.
