Default ARB Touring Roof Tent

Thinking about making this purchase, but there is alot of unknown. Does it come with all hardware to mount it on the roof (i.e. no need for a special Roof Rack?)?

Just looking so see if anybody has one and if they could share some yay or nay about it and give some insight on how it is really mounted.

I saw this mounted on a vehicle before and they used u-bolts to attach it to the roof rack. I did not ask if it came with them or if they had to souce them though.

Good to know. Thanks for the reply. Seems that if that is the case then there would only be some select roof racks this would work with.

Anybody else got any insight or experience with this?

Right...Things that make you go Hmmmm. I have searched around the internet and there are multiple websites with this mounted on different vehicles so I don't think you are on the roof at all. And Quadratec says it comes "complete with mounting hardware" but I am wondering what that means when it is clearly pictured in both pictures with a roof rack.

I have the tent, have yet to use it, but have installed it. You need a roof rack system of your choice, I have the kargo master kongo cage.

I'm not on my computer or I'd insert the link, but look for a thread titled kargo master install and you can see my pic.

There are two brackets mounted to the bottom of the tent that go perpendicular to the roof rack that have mounting bolts in them. Very easy install

IN response to Paramaniac, thanks for the reply

For others there is the thread he posted the picture of his Tent.

Paramaniac: please let me know how the tent treated you after you return from JK Fest so that I can make a somewhat educated decision. I don't think to many people have these and I like the concept but want to know the good and bad before I spend that kind of money. THANKS.

Dumb question.....How is this any better than a tent on the ground? I don't get it. Plan on camping in a river?

I understand that in some parts of the world it is a good idea to get off the ground so you do not become part of the food chain but for those in the US and other non lion infested countries.........Why camp on your roof?
