alright guys and gals, i want to know what everyone else knows about OBA. i was thinking about going with a viair either heavy duty or constant duty and maybe switching the airtank out for the 5 gallon warn one for the powerplant. that depends on the mounting options in a 2 door, and what kind of deal i get on the air system. the reason i want to go with a viair and not a belt driven one is because i am wondering, say one day down the road i have a project that i need to use some air tools, for the sake on argument lets say i am going to re-roof my house so i want to use a nail gun because thats easyest. would i be able to use the OBA in my jeep so i wouldnt have to go out and buy a new compressor for the garage? if i were able to, the jeep would have to be runing as to not kill the battery. So weve all been to auto shows, at most of them they have a box under the cars that runs power from the outlets to the cars so that people can play with the electronics in the cars. well what i was thinking is that if anyone knows where to get one of those boxes i could rig up a quick disco system with wires like this:

have one end going to the box and one going to the battery and have this:

so that there isnt constant power flowing into the battery. Or could i run the quick discos directly to the air compressor? then it should be like its plugged right into the wall correct? i could need my keys or anything to be in the ignition?
thanks for your help

Let me start out with saying that I have the Viar constant duty and really like it. There aren't a lot of options for mounting the tank inside a 2 door without giving up a lot of space. I did some searching and decided to go with the River Raider evap relocation/air tank mount and skid. It is heavy duty and does not hang down past the frame.
As for the air tools: the only think I can think that would be in your way is the lack of a outgoing pressure regulator. Most air tools are rated at 90 psi or less while the viar constant duty runs up to 150.

well i had the viar set up on my tj and it reset one tire and aired up many others with out any problems. my only complaint about the way i had it set up is i would run out of max pressure in the tank really quickly. so as far as air tool use i am not sure how well it will do. when you are filling tires and stuff they act as a tank and will increase in pressure.
so i guess what i am saying is that the compressor does not put out 150 psi strait from the pump, but it will be able to pump up to 150 psi in a tank and that does take a while.
