which lift is better in the long run
well im looking at lifts and i cant decide on the rancho 3" lift or the skyjacker 4" lift but i gotta question would i need anythhing else like a stering stablizer or others if i got either lift?
if you read the forums for a while, i think you will find a lot of unhappy skyjacker owners and a lot who have had nothing but problems with their lift. i have seen the rancho 3" lift and it really is a good kit and one that i think you will like.
there are many kits out there, so many of them are very good. I have the rancho sport , which is really not listed in inches, but is very close to 4". i'm very happy with this kit, and is the only kit in the market with front lower arm extensions. thats why I chosed it, on the other hand the skyjacker gives you a lot of lift, but for some reason I have seen a few jeeps with this kit and broken driveshafts. I'm not saying that the same thing won't happen with other lifts, i find it to be a very big coincidence. I think it has to do with the angle of the driveshaft.

I would suggest going with a kit that has adjustable track bars. If you get one that doesn't come with them I would find some anyway. On smaller lifts it's not too big of a deal but the adjustable bars keep your axles inline with the vehicle the way it was intended so everything works a little smoother with no binding. I'd recommend the steering stabalizer if you are going with 35"s or bigger. Swaybar quick disconnects are nice to have too if you kit doesn't come with them and you are planning on hitting the trails. thats my 2 cents.
I would recomend the 3" Black Diamond and pay for the lower control arms. If you go the the Superlift website they have a link over there to an article called "Wrangler Runaround" where at the time they tested several 3" lifts, and the Superlift was just a few points behind the Donahoe kit, but it was something like $5,000 less expensive too.
