Default New gears and the chatter like crazy? That can't be normal

I just had my local shop put in a new set of 4.88 gears in my jeep and they chatter like crazy. Is that normal, or did they screw it up? If so, they owe me a new set of gears.

Not normal... Have you gone through a break-in proceedure?

I don't think gears should chatter at all. I have heard of them humming, but they shouldn't chatter.

Exactly, I had 3 sets installed before they where right, make sure when you do a gear up that your shop has warranties on their work and the warranty from Superior.
Even Superior told me that it's not a perfect thing and sometimes they don't mesh properly but all in all they are great gears and yes when I let off the gas they do hum like music to my ears!

Is it more of a clunk when you put it into gear?

it only chatters when you push the gas, and you really don't hear it untill you get to about 2000 rpm? there is no clunck, or any other sounds that i can tell.
