Daystar Hood Latch and noise?

I have just installed the daystar hood latches to keep the hood in place. However, I have isolated the recent wind noise to these latches. Anytime I get 40-45 MPH I can hear the noise and it takes 27+ volume on the radio to drown it out.
I isolated the noise to the latches as I went down the road with the latches "1/2 way seated", but not fully latched; no nosie. I then latched them back and it returned with the same speed. I also notice that when I latch them, they pull the fender to the hood as these things are really tight.
So my question is, has anyone else noticed this? If so, did you find a solution or just live with it?

Sorry, it's a whistle noise and rather loud one too. I first noticed it with the soft top on and then noticed it with the soft top off. With the top down and radio below 25MPH, you can hear it over everything else; include the mud tires.
Mine never made any noise, the only difference to catch the wind is the the stretchy rubber part, which is the same shape, etc...so, what you SEEM to be saying, is that you think that pulling the HOOD down tighter is what is making wind noise?

Mine were so freaking tight that, at first, with my blown rotator cuff and herniated disks in my neck, I could barely clamp them down or open them...but, they settled into a more reasonable tightness within a few weeks, etc...but, even at their tightest, they NEVER resulted in a noise.
Maybe its a coincidence, and it just SEEMS like the hood is making the noise?
Or, maybe, YOUR hood is weird in some way?
OR - the rubber part was installed backwards?
Can you take a few pics with different angles?

To test it...
In addition to your 1/2 way latched version...
...try adding a small spacer to the existing stops for the hood, to raise it a bit when closed, and fully latched, and see if THAT helps.

I think that the spacer was one that I had already thought about trying and will (when I find something). I do notice that the lines of the hood do not match up with the lines of the side metal fender's curve; this is due to the hood being sinched down tight. I assume that everyone's look like this? I did install the flat part down toward the fender.
Also, does it pull everyone's fender in when latched? I will try to get pics this evening.

If you look at the hood from the front, does it make the cuves from the side fenders to the hood or does it break the "curve lines"? Mine looks like the hood it pulled way too far down. However, I suspect it will pull my fender futher in if I add the spacer.
Is it safe to assume that there isn't any wiggle room to force the latch and hook closer together by way of the mounting holes? I only mention it since you talked about 1/2 latched. Just a thought. I'd hate to suggest elongating the mounting holes to keep it from being so "tight" especially if that didn't fix it.
Installed mine about 1 month ago. No strange sounds/wind from the hood and didnt seem to distort the fenders at all.
They were a total PITA to get latched but after a month, they have stretched enough to be tight but not hard to get latched.
