Default Where to mount an ExtremeAire??

All,
Since the "ARB compressor mounting location?" thread is starting to gain traction, I figured I'd throw this question out to the masses seeing as I haven't been able to figure it out on my own yet.
Has as anyone hard mounted a ExtremeAire/MaxAir/Puma 12v to there JK, if so, where? Or if anyone knows of a good place to mount one, post that as well.

Seems most have been mounting there 12v compressors in the cargo area, under the front seats, or to the front cross member under the radiator. I'd prefer to keep a larger compressor out of the cab, so that leaves the engine bay and below.

One option I have been thinking about is mounting the compressor to the front of the rear cross member. Does anyone know if there is enough clearance for that? This is essentially the same area where the Evap Canister could be relocated to.

The ExtremeAir is a tough, weather resistant unit...and if you don't do water crossings that deep, the cross member area is probably ok...but, I'd rather see the compressor mounted higher to keep it foam intake filter drier, as splashes can soak it, so when it sucks in air, it sucks in water, etc.

I think putting a TANK at the cross member location would be great...I'd put the compressor under the hood though.

Remember, it can be mounted in any orientation, upside down, upright, horizontal, at a 45 degree angle, etc...so the mounting options are varied.

I looked under the hood again this evening, and the only place I think it would fit is in-between the radiator and the engine. Perhaps a large L-bracket mounted to the passenger side frame rail. But the bracket would have to be tall enough so it would not block the oil filter???

As with other portable compressors, is it possible to run a remote air intake? That way, you could mount it under the Jeep. Just as long as it gets dry air.
