Default New rims and tires

Hey all

I'm about to take advantage of the sale on Procomp tires and Rock Crawler rims from 4wheelpars.com

A few questions:

They say the 17x8 rims are actually 4.25 back spacing and not the 4.5" listed on their website. Will 4.25 be ok with the 3" Teraflex lift?

They say that my stock lug nuts will work with these rims (black steel series 97) and no aftermarket lugs will be needed.

They can install aftermarket tire pressure sensors in the tires for $35 each. They say they should be picked right up by the Jeep.

Can anyone with real life experience and the above weigh in.

Thanks

I think you have to have the TPMS sensors reflashed at the dealer, they won't just be picked up by the Jeep. I swapped my old ones in when I changed wheels.

$35 for the sensors is a really good deal. They're $70 here in Canada. Oh, and to put this into perspective, a buddy of mine just paid $115 each for them for his Infinity....YIKES!

You shouldn't have any problem with the back spacing. I have procomp wheels and I'm using my stock lugnuts with out any problems

I am so glad I have an '07 and don't have to deal with these.

I just figure that the extra cost would be worth not having to deal with the chime and the (!) symbol.

Just an FYI.... 4wheelparts and 4wd.com are owned by the same mother company. Whatever final price you get from 4wheelparts call 4wd and they usually will beat it. You would think they would have the same prices but I was able to save an extra $200 when I bought my 37" Pro Comp's and 17x9" Pro Comp rims from 4wd.com.

Just have the TPMS moved to your new wheels. I had mine moved with no problems.

I have 4 inches of backspaccing so 4.25 will do just like n2rock said, and just push your wheels out further and make them look better.

You don't need new TPMS sensors, they just have to transfer them.

If I lived close to a 4wheel parts shop, I'd have them do the swap. I am ordering these off the intranet which has them shipped from CA to Fl to me in Maryland. I don't want to have to disassemble the rims tires once they arrive, rebalance, worry about how to transport all those tires to a local shop.

I have talked to the local Jeep dealer who thinks the sensors should automatically transmit to the Jeep, but 4wheel parts thinks that they will need to be zapped once I get them.
