Default Changing rear axle shafts -- ABS ring?

I bought some Superior front & rear axle shafts a little while back. I've already changed the front ones, but didn't have time to do the rear axle yet (replacing the front seals took us by surprise and ate up some time). Anyway, I noticed the new rear axle shafts don't have an ABS ring on them, so I have to pop them off the OEMs. I'm afraid I might break them, so I checked the Mopar parts catalog - just in case - and to my surprise, they're not available separately from the shafts!

So... For those of you who've replaced your rear shafts... How difficult was it to remove the ABS ring? What did you use to get them off?

Thanks,
js.

The best way to do it is to buy new tone rings and keep your stock shafts as spares. We just recently got these in stock.

On a side note, I wonder if anyone will ever offer axle shafts and front hubs in a more common bolt pattern?

you cant really get more common than a 5x5.5 bolt pattern on Solids hubs.

I'd agree to just leave the tone rings on. Its a PITA to remove and press. If I had a do over, I would leave them on and buy new ones.

I also just finished setting up my Superior rear axles with new ABS tone rings and axle retainer plates, I am putting them in this weekend. I figure I will leave my stock axles intact for "ready to go" trail spares.

I am about to finish installing a set of CTM u-joints on my Alloy-USA front shafts and also plan on putting them in this weekend. My question for you is do you recommend putting on new front axle seals for the swap, and is there a problem with using the stock ones if I only have 6K miles on them? If I would carry my stock front axles intact for "ready to go" trail spares, should I also include a set of front axle seals?

Thanks for your input.
