Default Gas mileage with 5.13 and 4.88 gears

Can someone tell me what kind of gas mileage they are getting after changing their gears to the 5.13 and 4.88. I'm going to regear, and I am curious if gas mileage will increase when I do. Right now I have a 6speed manual, 4.10 gears, and running 35's for tires. After lifting and installing tires I noticed a pretty good drop in gas mileage. I'm wanting to know if I would gain some of this back by regearing since the jeep would be able to pull itself on the highway again. Any info would be appreciated.

Ditto!! I would like to hear on 5:13'S w/ auto and 35's though. Any results would be good to see before/after. Going to run higher RPM's but thinking it will help as trans is not searching for gears and downshifting.

Beuhler, Buehler, Buehler....?? Anyone... Some one has to have monitored their mileage by now... Post some results... I'm getting tired of my 13-14 mpg's and hoping some 5:13's will help somewhat with the mileage as well... need to get my AirRaid put on and get an exhaust, hopefully I can pick up a little with that as well...

I wanted to wait until i ran through a couple tanks of gas, the first tank It dropped down to 13 mpg (mixed driving), the second tank I have yet to fill up again, will do today after work, but looks like it will be back up to 14-14.5 mixed driving.

I was getting 14-14.5 with the 4.10's mixed driving and got 16.5 on an all highway trip.

Thanks for the feedback. To clarify you have 37's, what do you have, auto or manual? Well does not look like mileage will pick up much but at least driveability and power will!

I have an auto, and to tell you the truth If 5.38's were available, I think that would be a much better option with the 37's with an automatic. It still bogs down some on overpasses and small hills, and I also have an Airaid CAI, and magnaflow muffler.

IMHO 35's with auto go with the 5.13's, manual go 4.88's just because of the deep overdrive gear in the auto (.69) vs. the manual (.84)
37's you have to go 5.13's either way until they come out with 5.38's
