Default Problem: 285/75 17 spare hits 3rd brake light

got my bighorns yesterday, look great but the spare hits the stock 3rd brake light. it bolts up tight, but it is rubbing (resting firmly against it) the vertical support of the brake light. is this a problem? will it hurt my tire? also, as noted on here b4, i need spacers. im rubbin on the brake line at full turn. will the spacers fix this issue? or is there something else i need to do? thanks guys for your input on this.....

Or just cut the ugly third brake light right off. It unplugs inside the tailgate. Take a hacksaw and grinder to the bracket. No more worries.

I had 285/70/17 and 315/70/17 w/o a spacer on the tailgate and was not worried about the third brake light.

If you do put a spacer on the spare, be sure to get extended bumpers which stabilize the tire.
