Default deep water should I worry about the fan??

With the fan being electric and all, will flooding it / stalling it screw it up?

I've been thinking about this one too. Eventually I want to install a switch to kill the fan for fording, but I haven't been deeper than a foot or so with the JK yet.

Some of the other members had a thread going about shifting gears underwater, but I don't remember reading about fan problems.

Of course not. It won't hurt a thing. Everybody knows water and electricity are the best of friends.

I've replaced my fan motor after many a mud/water holes. Offroadmandylu had hers go too, and that was after only a couple but not deep mudholes, she had hers replaced under warranty.

I replaced mine myself, when I ordered the fan it list 3 different parts, the motor, fan and shroud were actually listed separately when I got the bill. I ordered online from moparpartsamerica. The motor itself listed for 123 and paid 88.38 for it. I believe with the part number for just the motor I should be able to just order it. The total cost was 151 with the fan and shroud.

Part # for motor - 68039595AA

I have heard several people who have killed their fans in high water/mud. I am one of them. Of course mine could have been when I sunk the jeep to about 2 inches below the air intake. yes I pissed my pants. No problem other than the fan dying. Was with a friend who also lost his fan going through deep water/mud. Had mine replaced under warranty but best bet is to rig up a toggle cut/off for the fan and don't start it again until you make sure that the fan is clear of mud and water.
