Default Onboard air system in place of muffler?

How about this setup? An onboard air system, like this Viair, installed where the muffler is, protected and/or mounted using the Kilby muffler skid plate? Of course relocate the muffler.

Would it work?

Might work. I actually thought about that as well, but I decided to use the River Raider evap canister relocation and air tank skid that comes with their OBA. I have the Viair setup as well. Just called Kenny with RR and he made me a great deal on the skid. It tucks up nicely and the viair tank mounts perfectly since it is the same tank they use with their OBA system.

Thats where I have my tank, but my compressor is in my stock front bumper. It has worked great so far. The Kilby gas tank skid would probably work, but I think the River Raider Evap/tank skid could be adapted there too.

Here are the only shots I have of my tank:

I mounted the Viair compressor under the driver's seat. It has plenty of clearance and doesn't interfere with with the movement of the seat.
