Default Somethings missing...not good!

Ok there's a tube that runs almost parallel to the gas tank filler neck(not the little one thats attached to it) that is about 3/8" in size with a few sensors attached to it. Anyone know what it is? I'm guessing its a vacumm or breather line for the gas tank, but i'm not sure. My jeep died on me and won't go more than 20ft without stalling(auto trans, so its not me, lol). I looked underneith and that tube is broken right where one of the plugs go into a sensor. I'm guessing because the sensor is not there. Both ends of the tube are clearly broken where they mate into a plastic peice(some left on each end) and there's a wire hanging with a connector on the end and there's nothing around it could plug into...

So, hopefully by now you have a clue what i'm talking about...so what is it? And could this be the reason for it stalling? Could this allow water to get into my tank? Thanks!

Can you post a pic? Could it be the evap canister line? Just going by memory, but I think there should be 2 lines connected to the canister. One going to the tank, and one going to the intake manifold. There are probably other wires and sensors here as well.

I would guess that would cause a problem because just not putting the gas cap on correct can cause the same thing. Or it will at least make your service light go on and tell you to take it in.

From your description, it sounds like you're talking about your Vent-Tube for your gas tank. It is approximately 3/8 and runs parallel with the filler-tube... But I'm guessing...

How do you think you damaged it? Were you wheeling? Were you articulating pretty far and something snagged or pulled it off?

I wouldn't wait to center that steering wheel either. It takes 5 minutes, and if you dont do it your esp light will stay on until you get it serviced. Not sure if they charge for that one since it was caused by you lifting it.
