Default Rock Rail headaches on lifted JK

Just lifted my Rubicon, (Full Traction Lift), to fit 35x12.50x17 Parnelli's on American Racing Fuels but I have encountered a small problem. MY ROCK RAILS EXTEND A FEW INCHES INTO MY REAR WHEEL WELLS AND MY TIRES ARE RUBBING THEM WHEN I GO OVER THE SLIGHTEST BUMP!

sorry, I only have the one picture right now. Many more mods too come before it is picture worthy.

PS... Anyone know of any side steps to fit with rock rails installed.

I doubt your going to find some side steps that will work with the stock rubi rock rails....

what kit did you get ? the econo 3" ?

I'm not calling you a liar or anything but in the pic it looks like there is all kinds of room between the rear tire and rock rail...how close is it ??

BTW it looks nice !!

yup we need another pic. Exposure is all outta whack & it's not very sharp to boot. Maybe just a close up of the offending area. Did you take this with your cellphone?

Added better pictures of the space, or LACK OF, between the rail and the tire.

My best recommendation would be to purchase Full Traction's adjustable control arms. With them, you could adjust the rear axle rearward 1/2" or so, and it might/should be enough to eliminate any rubbing with the rock rails. Those rock rails are the stock Rubicon ones, not Mopar accessory or Aftermarket, right?

Agreed?!?!

That's a nice looking JK! What wheels are those?

Maybe you could just trim that rock rail a bit?? If you don't want to trim then I agree with SpudRacer...adjustable control arms would probably do the job.

Thanks Wife......BTW the wheels are American Racing Fuels 17x9

I just got finished taking off the rails and am about to start shaving them down some. Shouldn't be too tough.

Just wanted to post to inform others to check it out so there are no surprises!!!

Thanks for posting your results. There is also a pretty good sized hunk of sheetmetal in the rear wheel wells. You may as well trim a bit off of that as well.
Thanks for the improved pics. You have me sold on 35's now. It's amazing how much smaller tires look on the 4 door. I thought 35's looked like monster truck tires on a TJ.
To me these look just right.

I'm pretty sure this is a Full Traction 3" Economy Lift. Or, at least that's what I remember reading somewhere before.
