When to use disconnects
The Benefit on the trail is obvious as it helps to keep all the tires on the ground, but is there any benefit to disconnecting the sway bar on say fire roads? Does this help to absorb the potholes and washboards at speed?
Haven't tried it yet, wondering if anyone else has??

Thanks for the all the replies everyone
I think the gerenal concensus is that, whenever you are off road -it's a good time to disconnect
... And -Most certainly if you are in low range.
For safety Reasons, please keep your speed down while running disconnected.

i wouldnt think so. your axle isnt articulating as much when you are on flat or bumpy roads. potholes are gonna be absorbed by shocks and tires so i would think a good set of shocks and airing down would smooth out your ride.
I had new JkS disconnets and went out on fire roads.
Most of the time not in 4 wheel drive, but over lots of
bumps and ruts.
After a while I looked and 2 of the rubber bushings were
shot with the disconnect pins gone.
Now I always disconnect before going on dirt roads.
I have a Rubicon with the electric disconnects but it only
works in 4x4 and under 15mph.

x 2, disconnecting is to keep the tires on the ground while traveling over uneven terrain at slow speeds, under 15 mph.

personally, i disconnect every time i wheel my jeep. no matter the terrain. its such a smoother ride.. ESPECIALLY in a place like the beach.. i used to run connected, and half way through a trip i disconnected and it was night and day.
if you ever wheel with anyone (GF, wife) and they complain about being thrown around, just disconnect and theyll never complain again
