Default recovery point

I am going to go wheelin on Monday, first time. I have an X without tow hooks. Is there another recovery point I can use that would be safe? Would it be a good idea to use my hitch?

It's acceptable to use a receiver pin with a tow strap. Just make sure it is secured correctly. You can also buy a ball mount that has a d-cleat attached to it that will slide into the receiver.

check the fore sale section and freebies here on the forum i got a rear hook from hamer138 for a steal of a price, however i was left hanging about fronts, but i got the front pair ordered by my dealership for $67 bucks. quadratec is $74 for a pair. i have the X also and have not had front hooks but have gone wheeling, i guess just be extra careful unless you wanna be pulled out by your axle, which is not fun and your ass will be so tight you'll put a hole in your seat. or so i have heard. just keep an eye out for hooks. the reciever can be used however don't just put a strap around a ball as it could break and kill someone safety first

I have a pair of tow hooks from my Jeep. You pay for shipping or pick them up and they are yours.

Receiver point is fine with an appropriate connection point. A d-ring would be best. Definitely invest in some tow hooks though.

I agree. Pick those up from fireguy and there is a write up about how to take the bumper apart and attach them, its not that hard to do, just takes some time.
