Default tire upgrade for Sahara Unlimited 18" tires

Please help! I have been searching hard in the forum to see what you guys have done to upgrade the 18" tires for Sahara unlimited. I'd like to know what would be the good choice for 18" oem wheels without lift.
If someone can post some pictures will be great.
Thanks!

I still have not upgraded mine. I have gotten stuck in the mud twice with the Duelers. The get pretty slick in the wet stuff. I just can't figure out which new tire to go with. I really want 34"s in Toyo or Coopers, but no dice.

I also got the new sahara with 18" wheels and the stock tire that came with it was a 255/70/18. This equals equals 32.1" diameter, 10" width, and 7" section height. Without any type of lift you should be able to go to a 33" tire with 10 or 10.5 width or kept the 32" tire and go with a 12.5 width but you will most likely rub if you went with a both a 33" height and a 12.5" width without any type lift.

I'm really happy with the Nitto Mud Grapplers. They are a mud tire so they are a little noisy, but it's not as bad as I anticipated. I'm running 35's, but they make them in a 33 as well.

Default check it out..

I think there's some guys around here running MT's on 18" wheels with a combination of set ups, here's a thread that BLKRUBI is involved in and he states some price difference in 17's versus 18's. Good luck~

No pics, sorry, as I am still waiting on my Sahara Unlimited, also with 18" wheels.

After obsessing and deliberating and haunting a handful of local tire shops, AND DEFINING MY PRIORITIES, I narrowed my choices to:
  • BFG All Terrain T/A KO in a 285/65 18; or
  • Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo in a 265/70 18.

The BFG is a mean looking tire, no doubt, befitting the JK. I fully expect it would provide 10s of 1000s of kilometres of reliable and secure footing, both on-road and off-. However, while you might not need a lift if you don't do any serious off-roading to clear the additional 1/2" of tire height over the stock Bridgestone Duelers (non-Revo), they will rub at full-lock because of both the inch and almost 1/4 of extra footprint AND the block-face tread. Strike one, because I don't want to have to deal with that issue. No manufacturer's warranty. Strike two.

Some would say that the BS Revo is not as aggressive in appearance as the BFG when viewed from the profile (the tread face is pretty bloody mean, though, compared to most A/T tires). I'd say it's just as aggressive in appearance, but has an entirely different appearance. Again, my opinion, it's a great looking A/T tire that IMO looks no less the part than the BFG (ie: while it's no mudder/swamper, it's appearance befits the JK). The Revo's about the same height as the BFG, a hair taller. However, it is narrower than the BFG, but less than 1/2" wider than stock and is therefore considerably less likely to rub. AND, it has a 50,000 mile warranty.

Take a look at TireRack.com. These two tires have more reported miles than any other All Terrain surveyed, with the BFG having about 52.5M miles reported and the Revo having about 42M miles reported. FWIW, on a scale of 1-10 (worst to best), the Revo scored an 8.9 vs the BFG 8.5 in the user category "Would Buy Again?".

After all that, I have "committed" to the Revo... taller and wider than OEM, far more aggressive and with a superior tread/rubber compound than OEM, will fit without mods, and has a decent warranty. And that's my $0.02 worth.
