Default For the few who have painted there rims ???

I love the look of the MT classic lock rims but they don’t come in black so I was throwing around the idea of painting them black… they would be brand new right out of the box

I figured I would give them a good cleaning with some alcohol then a good coat of primer then flat black do you think the paint would hold up ??

When I have tiers mounted will it screw up the paint?? Or should I paint them with the tiers on

I live in New England so will the paint hold up through the winter??

Not sure how to go about doing this ???

I've painted lots of new steel wheels. Always did it before I mounted the tires. That way I can bake the paint on. It will hold up better if you bake them after painting. I use regular Dupont auto paint.

Here's a link to a do-it-yourself paint job. He used Duplicolor bedliner paint. Looks good and I plan on trying it myself. Like the idea of being able to do touch ups when needed.

I used rustoleum hammered. Looks good with a slight texture, and hides imperfections or rock rash. Can be touched up easily. Cheap.

Mount the tires, then use 4" strips of poster board to wedge between the tire and wheel. No tape needed.
