Default Emergency tow ancher

I was up the other night and got to thinking about all differant things you can do with the Jeep and the various things the Engineers didn't think of. If you were in the sand (beach) and needed to use the winch to get you unstuck. could you dig a hole and toss the spare in there with the winch cable attached? I thought that might be a good idea. Any thoughts?????

Yes you can do that. You can also use a Pull Pal or something similar.

That's what my friends call me! I'm always building stuff from nothing and on the fly. Glad to hear that this will work and someone else had the same idea.

This is the mental picture I had from years ago when I first heard of this trick. Only they used the old cross type lug wrench (I still carry one of those around).

It's a lot of freakin' work! It's even more work in something other than sand. At my almost AARP age, the PullPal didn't seem like that bad an investment.
