Oil and Filter help me choose
I have always used Purolator filters and penzoil for the last 15 years but think I may change it up because the last oil pan I took out was really cruddy from the pennzoil. Also will changing my own oil in anyway effect my lifetime powertrain warranty?
So what dino oil and filter does everyone use? BTW I'm not a fan of synthetics so dyno it is for me, just personal preference.

I totally agree with dino oil. I change it out enough that paying the price for synth wold be stupid. While there's not much original stuff left on my Jeep, I am a firm believer in OEM (Mopar) oil filters. The 3.8L has been around for quite some time and the automotive engineers put a lot of effort into figuring out the proper spring settings, etc... After market guys only need to worry about fit, packaging and advertising. If you don't believe that, just wait for everything you're going to read in the following posts. The true trick to long engine life is change your oil often.
I go 4,000 miles on Mobil 1 5w-20 with a Wix oil filter. Mopar oil filters are descent quality but they are not made in-house...they are contracted out to the lowest bidder. do not put a fram filter on....they use cardboard endcaps and do not have a coil drain-back valve. when you spend $3, you get what you pay for
there are benefits to synthetic believe me.... pour a conventional oil below freezing and then pour a synthetic... a lot of engine wear can occur during cold, dry starts

I change oil and filter every 2K, filter motorcraft fl400s if its good enough for Ford its more then good enough for anything Chrysler makes. Oil Mobile1. Maybe a little over kill but over kill means OK to me. Total cost about 35 bucks.
Dino is fine if you're sticking to the old 3K mile interval. I went synth but will go with longer intervals as well. I've had good luck with the Mopar filter, the Mobile 1 filter gave me constant clatter on start-up. Fram filters have a bad reputation, though ironically seem to be the best at preventing the clatter on start-up. It's pretty much splitting hairs IMO.
