I cannot seem to find anyone to bite on my JK I am selling. I am about to go around and find a car I want at a dealer and see what they will give me for it on trade. Its a 2008 Unlimited X. Auto. and hardtop as the only options. 6200 miles. Thing is it is on 36x13.5 Iroks and I sold the stockers....and I have Xenon narrow flares on it. The spare wont fit on the carrier. And I cut the front bumper. I can find a bumper probably, and get some stock wheels/tires....but I do not think I could reattach the stock flares easily...maybe I can...but I had to enlarge all the mounting holes for the Xenons.


I guess what I am asking is if anyone has traded in their JK and what should I expect? Obviously there is not much interest in used JKs at the moment...at least not locally. I am sure that since mine is pretty bare as far as options go, they will assume they will have a hard time selling it as well. Am I hosed?

 

The mods you have done to it makes it very unfriendly for resale at a dealer. It would go to auction, there for a dealer would offer you are VERY low trade in value. Lower the price that you are looking to sell it for retail and it will still be more than what you would get on a trade in. Good luck.

 

Yeah I figured that much. I could get a cheap set of stock wheels/tires no problem. And a new bumper cover. And I could put the stock console back in (Tuffy in there now). But I do not know if I can re mount the stock fender flares....I suppose I could try...or "make it work".

I was just wondering, even if I did return it to stock, would I get near what NADA or KBB list? Somewhere around $18k. I just cannot believe I would get close. Someone should just buy it.

 

try galves.com although it may not be listed if the vehicle is too new.

 

You have to figure that there are dealerships selling new ones like yours for the same price or cheaper than $18k.

 

To bad you can't find a fellow JK'er that would swap all his OEM stuff for your upgraded stuff. You could do an even swap, it would be a great deal for them and would make yours easer to sell/trade.

 

Have you tried posting it on Ebay??? perhaps you might get a few more bites on there....list it with the reserve that you hope to get and if it sells great!!!!..if not then back to the drawing board but no loss....worth a shot.

Do you have the full Tuffy console in there or just the added locking top????
