I'm lucky enough to have a guy from my Jeep club building me a bumper. He works at a steal fab company, and moonlights building bumpers. This one is turning out great. Uses 3/16, 1/4 and 3/8 steal. Gussets and reinforcements. Offers the best approach angle by being no further forward or down than the existing bumper plates on the end of the frame rails. Sides are tapered inward for max clearance of the front tire turned at full stuff. It is a deep pan and offers a lot of protection for my winch. ...and it looks sick as can be!

Oh yes, that's a looker. I like the way the winch sits low down in the bumper. I'm hep to stubby bumpers.

 

I havent completely decided. I dont really like powder coating because once it is scratched it can continue to peal... I am thinking of painting it the hammered matte black, and then I can touch it up in my garage as I scratch it. Also, put some thought into Linex or another bedliner material, but I dont know too much about them. Anybody know how they hold up, and how easily they can be touched up when dinged on the trail?

I have heard the Line X works good but not all of the other bed liner paints work out so well.
