Thumbs up Put on my Teraflex 2.5" BB and Rubi shocks/coils

First of all, this post would normally be in the "Show and Tell" section, but I don't have a camera right now... Luckily, WOL and WOLette were kind enough to take some pics for me so look out for them!

Anyways-- I ordered the Teraflex 2.5" BB from David at Northridge 4x4 (who is awesome, BTW-- I'd order from him again in a heartbeat. ) and when it arrived I headed down to wayoflife and wayoflifette's so they could help me through the install. It was super quick and easy, since WOL was so well equipped and familiar with the kit (not to mention my top notch wrenching skills...)... we had the whole thing done in about 4 hours. It's a really well thought out kit-- I was impressed with it. We used Rubicon shocks and coils when we put it all back together with the spacers in and, wow... what a difference. I always thought the Sahara rode a little mushy, but I really had no idea until I felt the firmer ride of the Rubi coils and shocks. Even side by side the Rubi coils looked a bit longer and felt firmer than the Saharas. They also had different part numbers on them. We also used Full Traction quick disconnect swaybar links, instead of the stock ones. Needless to say, I'm really happy with the ride. I assume it would have ridden stock had I kept my stock suspension-- but with the stiffer suspension it rode even better than stock . And the Tera shock extenders feel great.

I plan on running these 32" BFGs for a while until I can afford to regear for bigger meats. I think it looks fine with the 32's... it keeps with the whole safari look.

So, thanks to WOL and WOLette for being such gracious hosts and for helping my Sahara grow taller! Now, if only I could fit it in the garage...

Wow, you must have a short garage door for a 2 1/2 inch lift not to fit! You don't live in the land of 4 leaf clovers by chance do you?

I have a feeling the land of 4 leaf clovers has taller garages than the one in my building. It's actually one of the beams in the driveway along side of the building-- I'm maybe 2mm taller than it with my soft top on. If I could clear that beam, I'd be fine. It would fit fine without the top. I'm hoping management will help me out with it....

Hey doojer, it was our pleasure to help you out and I'm glad you were able to help clean out my den by recycling some of my old Rubi parts.

I love the way your JK came out and will try to post some pics of it for everyone to see soon.

Thanks, Eddie-- I'm happy to help you clean out your den any time!

I should also mention that I have a very early build (8/06) and have not had ESP kick in at all with this lift. I've tested it on windy roads, around corners and down twisty freeway exits while giving it a pretty fair amount of gas and there don't seem to be any ESP issues. In fact, the rig feels surprisingly stable.

WOLette suggested that it could be the difference between the softer Sahara coils that allow more sway vs. the stiffer Rubi coils. So, it would be interesting to hear if the folks having problems are using softer coils than the folks who haven't had issues.

wow...so 2.5" lift with 32" doesn't look funny at all. I guess, with 33" (285/75/16) it should look fine right?
