I flipped mysway bar
I was out doing a little 4 wheeling. Very basic stuff. Just trails. Snow and ice. Well I've done some hard wheeling in the past but i guess today was the day. I have a 2.5" lift but never put on longer sway bar disconnects.
So some how I flexed too much and it cause my sway bar to flip all the way down. it pinned against the steering rod(sorry didn't get photos of this.). The ride got extremely bumpy and then as i began to turn it forced the sway bar disconnect completely out of its rubber socket and metal sleeve. Then it rendered me to only right turns because the steering rod has this bracket on it which is what forced the sway bar disconnect off. Was a real pain in the butt and a real cold night.
We were able to pop the rubber back in but not without extensive damage to the rubber insert. Had to place a metal washer on it to prevent further problems. looks like some quick disconnects are in the near future.
of course as long as wife says its ok. LOL
Here is a video of the following photos. http://vimeo.com/2857247

Here is the empty metal sleeve. LOL

The rest of the disconnect still bolted in place. The rubber tore when it poped out.

The upper part took a beating also. Same with the other side. Became wuite loose actually.

Using a vise to push it back in.

This has happened to my best friend's JK, caused by a stupid driver hitting him... not offroading though.
